We get asked why we named the firm Kitty Hawk Consulting.  Here's the answer.
'Ideas that work'

For many years we have been inspired by two men who went to the cold and windy sand dunes on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In December 1903 they made an idea work.

They were called dreamers, but they made their idea work. Much since has been built on their success.

A wit said: "In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is." (A tip of the hat to Nancy.)

Kitty Hawk (or Nags Head) is also a place that I have visited yearly for many many years and it holds a great deal of meaning for me personally. I named the firm when we were in New York City, and the name has stuck.
